Here is a depiction of an old man (probably a study for an apostle) with a book, his right hand raised and pointing. There is no known painting for which this figure may have served as a the model.
The eyes were heightened in brown ink, and in the area of the hair and the raised right arm, a few fine lines drawn with a pen and brown ink sharpen the forms.
