Mit der Schrift (vgl. Söhn 23. 023c) erschien die Graphik als Titel der Publikation "Der Bildermann. Steinzeichnungen für's deutsche Volk" (Heft 1, 5. April 1916) im Verlag von Paul Cassirer in Berlin.

Laut Söhn ist der Zustand a signiert, das vorliegende Blatt jedoch nicht. Es muss sich demnach um einen unbeschriebenen Zustand, wohl um einen Probedruck, handeln.
