Edith Dekyndt
Slow Object 15, 2020

In Slow Object 15, splendour and decay combine to create a work that is situated between painting and object. The soft fall of the fabric evokes associations with the motif of the curtain, which appears repeatedly in art history, and thus with themes of concealing or revealing. In combination with the seductive sheen of the silver particles, Slow Object 15 seems to be located in a realm of transition. Edith Dekyndt's artistic approach is to investigate processes and their conditions. In doing so, the artist examines the aesthetic quality of fleeting transformations.
