As with other drawings from this series, there is no known painting that corresponds with this possible apostle depicted in a pose reserved for intellectuals in the Western iconographic tradition. Resting his head on his left hand, he appears to be meditating on what he has just read in the book whose pages he marks with two fingers of his right hand.
